[:en]Globe in partnership with Ascending Lda of Mozambique have been awarded a contract by German development agency GIZ to deliver phase 2 of the Skills for Oil & Gas Africa (E4D/SOGA) project in Northern Mozambique. The project will include up to 1,000 skills assessments, 300 certified training positions, and a six month internship program for 60 candidates with local companies.

Subject to suitably, 300 of the candidates assessed will be selected to conduct further work readiness training, including ECITB accredited HSE training. The top 60 assessed candidates will enter an artisan internship program in the areas of rigging, welding, or electrical. These candidates will undertake a three month On-the-Job (OJT) training period with local and international companies, followed by three months of formal training at Ascending’s Technical Training Facility in Pemba, Northern Mozambique.

In addition to training, the Globe – Ascending partnership will also assist candidates to access employment opportunities in the resource sector.
